The car selling experience was very efficient and fair. After checking in, we had our car assessed for condition and had a quote within 30-45 minutes. We had a week to think over the decision to sell, and when we came back to sell the car, the process took less than 30 minutes. We felt the process was hassle free and everyone was courteous. Highly recommended place to sell your car for a fair price.

It was an easy transparent process to sell my car with them. The associates who did the appraisal and the sale were courteous and professional. Waiting area is clean. No pressure to accept their offer immediately or buy a car. My associate was Grace C.

I came in the morning when the store opened. I was greeted warmly and we went straight into appraisal. They went over the appraisal process with me and explained how the price was determined at the desk while their workers appraised and test drove my car. In half an hour the appraisal was done, and I was given a written offer for my 2014 mustang V6 convertible. It was a fair offer and I accepted it. We then went to do paper work, and I left with my bank draft at noon. I wish they still offered drop-off service to nearby BART stations for customers who sold their cars though. Overall experience was great. It saved me time and the process was made very easy. They will also take care of DMV related stuff for me, so the only thing I needed to do was to deposit the money in my bank.

Purchasing a car here was a NIGHTMARE and cost us $800 over the cost of the car just to make it drivable! After purchasing our 2012 GMC Acadia on the drive it started smoking and hemmoriging coolant. We pulled over and called AAA to tow it to our home about 10 miles from CarMax. We called our sales person and she had it towed to the service dept the next day (Sunday). Once there we met with the sales manager who kept bragging about the 22 point inspection and told us we would be a priority for the servic dept the next day. Got a call at 1030 from service letting us know that our car was going to be looked at 1pm THE FOLLOWING DAY. So much for us being a priority! When it was finally looked at they determined it was a faulty heater hose, which I requested they return. It was a good thing I did, the hose was destroyed, not a clue how it would pass a REAL inspection (my 3 year was able to snap it in half it was so brittle!!!) We wound up taking the car to the GMC dealer down the street and turns out the brakes are almost shot and it needs several of the hoses replaced as they will fail soon. When I told them we just bought it they were horrified a car dealer would have let the car be sold in such condition. So if your gonna buy a car from these guys, buyer beware or take it and have it privately evaluated the 22 point safety inspection is a JOKE!
